Reopening a File in Bukers Taxanalysis
Have you ever created a file in Bukers Taxanalysis and the next day went to open it but forgot what you named it or where you saved it? Here’s a quick and easy way to reopen a file.
On your toolbar, there is a button that has a yellow file folder on it. To the right of the folder is an arrow that points down. Click on the arrow, then click “Reopen.” This will give you a list of your most recently used files. By default, this list will display the last 15 files you opened with the most recent on top.
Can I see more than 15 files in the list?
Sure! Just click on the “Edit” menu item at the top of your Bukers Taxanalysis screen and then on “Preferences.” In the top center of the Preferences window is the “Recently Used File List” setting. You can select a number from 0 to 99 files. Once you have made your selection, click the “OK” button.
Please note: if your list originally showed 15 files and you set the “Recently Used File List” to 20, the list will still show 15 until you open more files. As you open more files it will begin to grow to 20. If you set your “Recently Used File List” to 10, it will automatically reduce your list to 10.
If at any time you want to clear this list, click the arrow to the right of the yellow folder on your toolbar, click “Reopen” then at the bottom of the list select “Remove all items.”
What if my file was moved?
If your files have been moved to a different location on the server, clicking on a file in your most recently used file list will give you an error that says “File not found.” To prevent this from happening, click the arrow to the right of the yellow folder on your toolbar, click “Reopen” then at the bottom of the list select “Remove invalid paths.” This will remove any file from the list that is no longer in the location it was in when you last opened it.
So, the next time you forget where you saved a recently created file, use the Most Recently Used File list.
